Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of Lumen — Daily Bible Habit (“Lumen,” “the app”), an iOS app made by PinnaclePath LLC (“PinnaclePath,” “we,” “us”). By downloading or using Lumen, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

The app

Lumen is a personal Bible-habit app that helps you build a daily rhythm of reading, memorizing, and reflecting on Scripture, with streaks, reminders, and guided reading plans. Lumen is provided for personal, non-commercial use.

Scripture text

Bible passages in Lumen use the World English Bible (WEB), a modern English translation that is in the public domain. Reflections and reading plans are provided as devotional aids and are not a substitute for the Scripture text itself, your own study, or pastoral guidance.

Lumen Plus subscription

Lumen offers an optional auto-renewing subscription, “Lumen Plus,” which unlocks all reading plans, streak freezes, full stats and badges, the friends leaderboard, and custom reminder messages. The following terms apply:

• Pricing. Lumen Plus is offered as a yearly plan with a 7-day free trial, followed by $0.99 for the first month, then $39.99 per year. A standalone $4.99 per month option is also available. Prices may vary by region and are shown in the app before you purchase.
• Billing. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. After any free trial or introductory period, the subscription automatically renews at the standard price unless canceled.
• Auto-renewal. Your subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Managing & canceling. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID settings (iOS Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions) after purchase. Canceling stops future renewals; it does not retroactively refund the current period.
• Free trial. If you begin a free trial and do not cancel before it ends, it converts to a paid subscription. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable.

Refunds

Purchases are processed by Apple, and refunds are handled by Apple under the terms of the App Store. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com. PinnaclePath cannot directly issue App Store refunds.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse Lumen — including attempting to reverse engineer, copy, resell, or redistribute the app or its content beyond what these Terms and applicable law allow, or using the optional friends features to harass others or share unlawful content.

Your content

Journal notes and reflections you write stay on your device. You are responsible for the content you create. Because we do not transmit or store that content on our servers, you are also responsible for backing it up (for example, via iCloud Backup).

Disclaimer

Lumen is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that content will always be available.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PinnaclePath will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, Lumen. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app will not exceed the amount you paid for it in the 12 months before the claim.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we'll update the date above. Your continued use of Lumen after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.

Apple's standard terms

Your use of Lumen is also subject to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”), available at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula. Where these Terms and Apple's Standard EULA conflict, Apple's Standard EULA governs to the extent of the conflict.
