Common questions
How do streaks work?
Each day you finish your Daily Light — read the passage, complete the verse-memory exercise, and tap Done — your streak grows by one. Miss a day and the streak resets, unless you have a streak freeze banked.
What is a streak freeze?
A streak freeze protects your streak for one missed day. You earn one for every 7-day streak (up to two banked). Streak freezes are part of Lumen Plus.
Which Bible translation does Lumen use?
Lumen uses the World English Bible (WEB), a modern, public-domain translation. All passages are bundled in the app, so you can read offline with no internet connection.
Do I need an account?
No. Lumen works fully on your device with no sign-up. Your streaks, journal notes, and progress are stored locally on your iPhone.
What does Lumen Plus include?
Lumen Plus unlocks all reading plans, streak freezes, the full stats heatmap and badges, the friends leaderboard, and custom reminder messages. It starts with a 7-day free trial, then $0.99 for the first month, then $39.99/year. A standalone $4.99/month option is also available.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID. To manage or cancel, open iOS Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions and select Lumen. You can also tap Restore Purchases in Lumen's settings if a purchase isn't showing up.
Will I lose my data if I delete the app?
Because everything is stored locally, deleting the app removes that data. If you have iCloud Backup enabled, Apple may preserve it as part of your device backup. Check iOS Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → iCloud Backup.
How do I turn off daily reminders?
iOS Settings → Notifications → Lumen → toggle Allow Notifications off. Or disable the reminder from inside the app's Settings.
I want a refund.
App Store refunds are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com to request one. If Apple denies it and you have a legitimate concern, email us.
