Common questions

Is this a real ghost detector?

No. There's no such thing. Cold Spot is an entertainment app — calibrated to feel reactive, not to detect anything supernatural. It's for fun.

Why does it ask for microphone access?

The microphone is used live, on-device, to make sessions reactive to ambient sound. Audio is never recorded, stored, or sent anywhere. If you decline, the app falls back to motion-only mode and still works.

Is the $3.99 a subscription?

No. It's a one-time purchase. Pay once, own it forever. Every future update is included at no extra cost.

How do I restore my purchase on a new phone?

Open Cold Spot → Settings → Restore Purchases. As long as you're signed into the same Apple ID that bought the unlock, it'll restore automatically.

The gauge doesn't react. What's wrong?

Most often this means a permission was declined. Open iOS Settings → Cold Spot → confirm Microphone and Motion & Fitness are both enabled. If you still see no reaction, email us.

I want a refund.

App Store refunds are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, and request a refund. If Apple denies it and you have a legitimate concern, email us — we'll do what we can.
