Rekey

Eligibility

By using Rekey, you represent that you are at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction if higher. If you are under the applicable age of majority, you may not use Rekey.

Not a security guarantee

Rekey is a password hygiene tool. It reports whether a password appears in a public corpus of leaked passwords and suggests an order in which to clean up your accounts. It is not a security audit, not a guarantee that any account is secure, and not professional security advice.

A result of “not found” means only that the password does not appear in the public corpus consulted at that moment. It does not mean the password is strong, unique, or safe, and it does not mean the account has not been compromised by other means. Conversely, a password found in breach data is not proof that any specific account of yours has been accessed. You are responsible for your own security decisions.

Third-party breach data

Breach results come from the public Pwned Passwords range API operated by Have I Been Pwned, an independent third-party service. We do not control that service, its availability, or the completeness or accuracy of its data. Rekey may be unable to return a result if the service is unreachable. When that happens the App reports the failure plainly and never presents it as a clean result.

License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Rekey on Apple devices you own or control, subject to these terms and the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.

Subscriptions

Rekey is free to use for unlimited password checks, the full Learn library, and the first three items of your cleanup plan. Rekey Pro unlocks the complete cleanup plan, priority accounts, session-wide reuse detection, and the monthly re-check reminder.

Rekey Pro is available as an auto-renewing annual or monthly subscription. In the United States, the annual plan is US$19.99 per year and the monthly plan is US$2.99 per month. Prices vary by storefront; the localized price is shown before purchase. A 7-day free trial is available on the annual plan for eligible subscribers, with eligibility determined by Apple. The monthly plan does not include a free trial. Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID account. Your subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions. No refunds are provided for partial subscription periods, except as required by applicable law.

Free trial

If you accept the annual plan's 7-day free trial and do not want it to renew, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Otherwise, the annual subscription renews at the localized annual price shown when you subscribed. Manage or cancel it in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions.

Your data

Rekey does not persist or transmit plaintext passwords. Password checks send only the first five characters of a SHA-1 fingerprint; the full fingerprint and remaining characters stay on your device. Cleanup-plan records and preferences are stored locally, and Rekey does not implement its own cloud-sync service. Support correspondence is separate. Prohibited use

You agree not to reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from Rekey; use Rekey for any unlawful purpose; use Rekey to test, enumerate, or validate credentials that are not your own or that you are not authorized to manage; automate, scrape, or place undue load on any service the App relies on; or resell or sublicense access to Rekey.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your license to use Rekey at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these terms or applicable law. Upon termination, your right to use Rekey ceases immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including disclaimers, limitation of liability, arbitration, and governing law.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Pinnacle Path LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of Rekey, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any third-party right.

Disclaimer of warranties

Rekey is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses, nor that breach data consulted by the App is complete, accurate, or current. Your use of Rekey is at your sole risk.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pinnacle Path LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of Rekey, including any account compromise, data loss, financial loss, or security decision made based on information displayed in the App. In no event shall Pinnacle Path LLC’s total liability to you for all claims arising from or related to these terms or your use of Rekey exceed the greater of (a) the amounts you paid to Pinnacle Path LLC in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) one hundred dollars ($100).

Dispute resolution and arbitration

Please read this section carefully. It affects your legal rights, including your right to file a lawsuit in court.

Agreement to arbitrate. You and Pinnacle Path LLC agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of Rekey — including any question of whether a dispute is subject to arbitration — will be resolved exclusively by final and binding individual arbitration, rather than in court, except as provided below. This agreement to arbitrate is governed by the Federal Arbitration Act (9 U.S.C. §§ 1 et seq.) and, to the extent applicable, the California Arbitration Act (Cal. Civ. Proc. Code §§ 1280 et seq.).

Arbitration administrator and rules. Arbitration will be administered by JAMS under its Streamlined Arbitration Rules and Procedures, or, if JAMS is unavailable, by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, each as in effect at the time arbitration is initiated. You may access the JAMS rules at jamsadr.com and the AAA rules at adr.org.

Exceptions. Either party may bring an individual action in small claims court, and either party may seek injunctive relief in court for infringement or misuse of intellectual property rights.

Class action waiver. You and Pinnacle Path LLC agree that each may bring claims against the other only in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class or representative proceeding.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions, except that the Federal Arbitration Act governs the arbitration provisions above.

Changes to these terms

If we update these terms, we will update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of Rekey after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
